DDS Reviews: So You Think You Can Dance Live!
The Discount Dance Supply team headed to Segerstrom to watch the SYTYCD Live Tour Show! What did we think? Is it worth it? Was it a flop? Would we see it again?

Every year So You Think You Can Dance gathers their talented Top 10 contestants and puts together a live show of the most popular routines from the season. The show promises to be “an unforgettable night of dance…boldly transporting the small screen experience to the stage”. This year, a few of the DDS girls, including myself, got to experience it firsthand. Read on to see what we thought!

Laura: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 stars! It was so much fun to see! You could feel the high energy and great chemistry within all the performances of the evening. Looking forward to seeing what’s next for all of the Top 10!

Brenley:⭐⭐⭐⭐ (and a half)
The SYTYCD Live show was amazing! I loved how each piece seamlessly transitioned to the next packing the show with as much dancing as possible! As far as the dancers go, there is a clear reason why Hannahlei won. She captivated the audience with her personality, technique and style throughout the show. All-Star hosts Lauren and Cyrus complimented each other perfectly and kept the energy flowing between the numbers. Altogether, the show exceeded my expectation. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if some of the All-Stars came out to perform the pieces they originally did on the show. Maybe next year!

Katherine: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Coming from someone who doesn’t ever go watch live dance shows and barely watches the ones on TV, this was amazing! I was shocked again and again at how extraordinarily talented these young people are. One of my favorite performers was Darius Hickman. He was so enthusiastic and always had a smile on his face. And Hannahlei…oh my goodness… she was incredible! You can instantly see why she was this season’s winner. She moves effortlessly on stage with such precision and grace. Overall, the show was wonderful, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to see such talent up close.
Molly: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
While the show is very entertaining on TV, nothing compares to seeing the dancers live. The audience could see how close the dancers are to one another and how much they love performing. All-Stars Lauren and Cyrus were the MCs and performed in several routines, as well. Overall, it was a great show, and I highly recommend you go and see this tour!
Samantha: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
All I can is wow! From the non-stop energy, to the incredibly talented dancers, down to the music – this show was fun from the beginning to the end. Being able to watch this show in person, rather than on TV, I was able to experience first-hand the passion and love these dancers give in each and every performance. That is something you can only experience from seeing it live. Would definitely go again!

What an incredible article. As a ballet dance academy, I whole-heatedly believe that ballet needs to made a drastic change.
