My Amazing Vacation in Greece
I’ve been working nonstop for over a year with both San Francisco Ballet and on Broadway, and during that time, have lived in three beautiful cities from San Francisco, New York City, to Paris, France. I have truly been living a dream come true and feel blessed to be working around the world with both companies.
I decided to schedule some vacation time to let my body rest and recuperate from the constant dancing that I’ve been doing for the past year. So I planned a vacation with my husband to go to Santorini, Greece. We rented a beautiful villa overlooking the bay where we were able to enjoy the sun during the day and watch the sunset each night. I indulged in deliciously fresh greek salads, creamy greek yogurts and fresh fish each day. I completely let my body relax by taking naps after each meal. At the end of the week I was ready to return back to work totally rested, revived and recovered.
Scheduling and enjoying some much needed time off is important for longevity for both your body and mind. It doesn’t have to be far away like Greece, but making sure that you take care of your body is what counts. I think it is so important to have a balance between working and resting. One of the lessons I’ve learned is when I’m resting, not to feel guilty or lazy, but to enjoy every minute!
