WA_Paige_MAINOur beautiful model Paige Borowski is heading off on a new and fantastic adventure in her dance career! She is starting her freshman year at the Juilliard School! Before Paige set off for the Big Apple we had a chance to sit down with her and ask some questions. Here’s what she had to say:

DL: How old were you when you started dancing?

PB: I was 6 years old and I started with ballet class at Carousel Dance Studio.

DL: What hobbies did you have growing up other than dance?

PB: I played soccer and softball for about 4 to 5 years.

DL: You obviously eat very healthy with your intense dance training, but what is your favorite guilty pleasure food?

PB: I would definitely have to say raw cookie dough!

DL: What do you do to stay in shape outside the studio?

PB: I’ll usually go for a light jog – about one and a half miles. I also really like taking spin class, and of course yoga and pilates.

DL: What was the audition process like for Juilliard?

PB: It was intense! You first have to apply like any other college, and then you sign up to audition. My audition was in Dallas. They started with a ballet class and from about 70 people, they cut it down to 9! Then there was a modern class followed by a cut, a rep class followed by a cut, and finally you had to do a solo. After auditions you also had an interview with a member of the panel.

DL: What was your reaction when you found out you were accepted?

PB: I found out via a phone call from New York. I had no idea who would be calling me from New York, but it was the president of the school! He told me I was accepted and I basically just broke down with tears of joy. Then I called everyone to tell them the exciting news!

DL: Do you know what a typical school day will be like?

PB: Yes. From 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. is school, so that’s all technique class along with two academic classes. We have dinner around 7, and after dinner it’s off to rehearsals!

DL: What will you miss most about California?

PB: Obviously my family and friends, but also the beach!

DL: What Broadway shows are you most excited to see in New York?

PB: I can’t wait to see Pippin!
